Informz sends data back to MemberSuite for both unsubscribes and resubscribes. This process (aka writebacks) ensures that data maintains consistent between the two databases.
Writebacks are viewed from the Bridge Configuration page in Informz. Navigate to Admin > Setup > Bridge Configuration and click Writeback List. Here, you can view all pending, completed, and failed writebacks.
If a subscriber unsubscribes via a link in an Informz mailing, the action is logged in Informz as an unsubscribe writeback and stored in a queue to be sent back to MemberSuite. MemberSuite regularly polls Informz looking for new unsubscribes to be written back.
Unsubscribe actions check the Do Not Email? checkbox in MemberSuite.
If an Informz admin manually resubscribes a subscriber, the action is logged in Informz as a resubscribe writeback and stored in a queue to be sent back to MemberSuite. As above, MemberSuite regularly polls Informz to look for new writebacks.
Please notes that resubscribe actions uncheck the Do Not Email? checkbox in MemberSuite.
Note that the resubscribe must occur in the system where the unsubscribe originally occurred. If a subscriber unsubscribes via an unsubscribe link in an Informz mailing, the resubscribe must also occur in Informz. Likewise, if a customer was unsubscribed in MemberSuite, the resubscribe must occur in MemberSuite as well (Informz is updated during the next sync).
Written Back/Propelled Forward!
Leveraging writebacks makes it easy to ensure that your subscriber management is kept in optimal condition. By writing back unsubscribes and resubscribes, you’ll never need to worry about your subscriber’s preferences. With all the data logistics under control, you can move forward and continue to focus on engagement!
