Distribution lists need to be populated with contacts or inquiries so that subscribers can ultimately be placed in Informz-generated target groups. Let’s look at the ways to add to a distribution list.
Adding a Single Contact or Inquiry Record to a Distribution List
To add a contact to a distribution list, open the contact’s record and click the Distribution List tab.
Each available distribution list has a corresponding checkbox. Check each list that should include the contact and click Save.
To add an inquiry to a distribution list, navigate to Inquiries > Search and search for your desired inquiry record.
Click the Distribution List tab. As with contacts, each available distribution list has a corresponding checkbox. Check each list that should include the inquiry and click Save.
Creating a Distribution List with a Query for Multiple Contacts or Inquiry Records
You can create a distribution list from a query by creating a new query (with a list of names and email addresses) and then clicking Create Distribution List. Note that this button only displays for queries that contain both Email Addresses and Contacts.
Enter a name and description for your distribution list in the provided fields.
Click Create List.
Alternatively, if you click Add to Distribution List, you can add contacts to an existing distribution list (selected from a dropdown list). Contacts are not duplicated if they already exist in the list.
Check the Checkboxes!
Always remember to make sure that all contacts within your queries have been checked. If you do not check their corresponding checkboxes, they do not become part of the distribution list and resulting target group!
