We're often told to take the road less traveled. Luckily for you, both roads lead to the same destination - becoming a hyperlink styling expert. Let's get started!
There are two ways to control the color of a hyperlink, let's explore them both!
Use the Font Color and Bold Tools
This method exclusively uses the toolbar - a one stop shop!
Place the cursor in the existing hyperlink in the story.
Click the a tag from within the HTML tag navigator section. The HTML editor tag is found toward the bottom of the screen. This highlights (selects) the entire hyperlink.
With the entire link now highlighted, click the Text Color toolbar button to expand the color list and select a color.
To make it stand out even more, you will want to bold it. With the link still highlighted, click on the B (bold) icon in the toolbar.
Use the CSS Tool
This method is just as simple as the first, but it requires you to navigate into the CSS tool. Do not be frightened though - we are here to guide you through this journey!
Place the cursor on an already existing hyperlink in a story
Click the a tag from within the HTML tag navigator section. The HTML tag navigator is located toward the bottom of the editor. This highlights (selects) the entire hyperlink.
With the link highlighted, click the CSS toolbar button.
Update the following fields in the Style window:
- Weight - Click the dropdown and select bold.
- Color - Enter the hexadecimal value for the color you want the hyperlink to display. Once entered, the background will display the color you chose.
Click the Update button.
When the color and weight are applied to the link, the styles are added as inline styles on the link tag.
