2017-05-25 (TD/MD 2 Version 11)

Release Date: May 25, 2017

This release implements major improvements and changes to Mailing Designer/Template Designer 2.0.

Alternate Images for Mobile Devices

Users can now add alternative images for mobile rendering. When users check the checkbox to specify an alternative image for mobile rendering, they see an additional image upload menu.

Distributed Mailings – Blackout Periods

Users that send a mailing using the Distributed Delivery method have a checkbox that allows them blackout period. Checking this box shows two time pickers that define a time range where mailings should not be sent.

This features uses the following validations that prevent sending:

  • If the blackout period covers the entire distribution period, Informz displays the following message: “The distribution period is entirely within the blackout period. Please decrease the blackout period or increase the distribution time."
  • If the blackout period start is equal to the blackout period end, Informz displays the following message: “Blackout start cannot be equal to blackout end.”

Document Hyperlinks

Users can now hyperlink to a document in MD/TD 2.0.

Click Select Document to open the Asset Manager. You can select a previously-uploaded document or upload a new document. Documents must use one of the following extensions: pdf, doc, docx, docm, xls, xlsx, ppt, pptx, pptm, txt, wav, mov, wmv, wma, avi, mpg, mpeg, mp3, bmp, jpg, jpeg, gif, or png.

HTML Editor

There is a new mode in MD/TD 2.0 that allows users to create a mailing in a direct HTML editor.

To access this feature, navigate to Mailing Designer 2.0 > From HTML.

Click Preview to refresh the preview panel. Note that for any hyperlinks to work directly from the preview panel, they must have the appropriate protocol (HTTP:// or HTTPS://) as part of the URL.

Hyperlink Validation

There is new hyperlink validation logic to TD/MD 2.0. The validation checks the hyperlink format and destination (i.e. does the web page exist). Valid URLs meet both criteria.

Valid URLS follow the format below:

<protocol name>://<domain name>.<top level domain name>

If users enter an invalid URL, Informz displays a corresponding error message.
